PM Modi's Scheduled Tour: West Bengal, Bihar, and Jharkhand on March 1–2

During a two-day visit to Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Bihar on March 1 and 2, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for numerous development projects, spanning power, rail, and road sectors. Around 11:00 on Friday, PM Modi will arrive in Sindri, Dhanbad, Jharkhand, participating in a public event to launch, dedicate, and lay the foundation for various development projects totaling Rs 35,700 crore.

The Prime Minister will officially unveil three new trains, aiming to significantly enhance the state’s railway industry. Furthermore, PM Modi will dedicate the reopened Sindri fertilizer plant in Jharkhand, operated by Hindustan Urvarak and Rasayan Limited.

The event, attended by Jharkhand Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan, Chief Minister Champai Soren, and Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers Mansukh Mandaviya, will witness the dedication of the North Karanpura Super Thermal Power Project in the Chatra district of Jharkhand.

In the afternoon, PM Modi is expected to arrive in West Bengal, staying at the Raj Bhavan in Kolkata. Later, he will address a public gathering in the Hooghly district’s Arambagh, dedicating projects worth Rs 7,200 crore. Additionally, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation for infrastructure-enhancement projects at Kolkata’s Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, collectively valued at approximately Rs 1000 crore, aimed at boosting productivity in cargo handling and evacuation.

Other significant rail projects, totaling around Rs 2680 crore, are also on the inauguration list. On Saturday, the Prime Minister will visit the Nadia district to address the public and officially open projects worth Rs 15,000 crore in Krishnanagar.

The PMO’s official release mentions that he will lay the foundation for and inaugurate various development projects totaling Rs 22,000 crore in the state. BJP West Bengal President Sukanta Majumdar has announced another visit by the PM on March 6, where he will address a rally in Barasat, North 24 Parganas.

Moving to Bihar on Saturday afternoon, the Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate, dedicate, and lay the foundation stones for development projects valued at Rs 21,400 crore in Aurangabad. Additionally,

he will lay the foundation stone for a six-lane Ganga bridge as part of the Patna Ring Road, one of the nation’s longest river bridges. Following this, Modi will travel to Begusarai to officially inaugurate several oil and gas sector initiatives spread across the nation, costing approximately Rs 1.48 lakh crore, with projects in the KG Basin, Bihar, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, and Karnataka, according to the PMO.
