Mr. Kejriwal is likely to ignore federal subpoenas in cases involving excise policy.

Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, was slated to appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on January 18, but there are indications that he may choose to disregard the fourth summons on Thursday.

The ED is investigating financial irregularities related to the Delhi excise policy. According to sources in the Chief Minister’s office as cited by media reports, Kejriwal is set to travel to Goa on January 18 to assess the party’s readiness in the state for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

While the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has refrained from issuing an official statement on the summons, Kejriwal had previously declared at an event that he would take any necessary legal action.

Originally planned for January 11, Kejriwal’s trip to Goa was postponed to oversee Republic Day preparations in Delhi. He was served with the fourth ED summons in the excise policy case, urging him to appear on January 18.

However, it seems that he might once again choose not to comply with the federal agency’s summons. In other developments, Kejriwal announced that he and his family would travel to Ayodhya after January 22. Following the Pran Pratishtha ceremony, the Delhi government aims to operate additional trains to Ayodhya.

Responding to questions about the ED’s fourth summons on January 18, Kejriwal stated that they would adhere to whatever legal procedures are required. On Wednesday, as part of the Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra Yojana, Chief Minister Kejriwal participated in a Bhajan Sandhya and interacted with elderly individuals departing for Dwarkadhish.
