The President of the Congress, Mallikarjun Kharge, has made a prediction that the BJP will face defeat in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Speaking at a public gathering in Amethi, he dismissed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitious goal of securing 400 seats, stating that it won’t be realized. According to Kharge, the BJP will not even manage to secure 100 seats in the Lok Sabha and will be ousted from power. He emphasized that despite the BJP’s claims of gaining over 400 seats, this time they will be removed from power.

Kharge also addressed the issue of unfinished projects in Amethi during the Congress’s tenure, attributing it to the BJP’s unwillingness to work for Raebareli and Amethi. He claimed that projects intended for these areas have been completed by the Congress. Kharge accused the BJP of attempting to create animosity between the people of Raebareli and Amethi, especially during PM Modi’s visits, where he accuses the Congress of hindering projects.

Amethi, once a stronghold of the Congress, saw a shift when Smriti Irani of the BJP defeated Rahul Gandhi in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Sonia Gandhi, however, has submitted a nomination for the Rajya Sabha elections this time, Mallikarjun Kharge  which the BJP interprets as an acknowledgment of defeat.

Kharge highlighted the strong bond between the Gandhi family and the people of Amethi, citing the efforts of Rajeev Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi in the region.

Meanwhile, Smriti Irani criticized Rahul Gandhi, claiming that his visits to Amethi result in deserted streets. Irani also mentioned the Gandhi family’s rejection of an invitation for Ram Lalla’s life Pran Prathistha ritual, which angered the Amethi Ram Bhakts.

In response to Kharge’s statement, Prime Minister Modi, in a recent rally in Jhabua, Madhya Pradesh, mentioned the Congress president’s claim of 400 seats. Mallikarjun Kharge  The prime minister asserted that the BJP alone should win more than 370 seats if the NDA secures 400 seats. He referred to Kharge’s statement and indicated that he would explain how to achieve it. The BJP even posted a video of Kharge’s statement from the Rajya Sabha on its social media handle this month.
