In his address, Prime Minister Modi emphasized Manmohan Singh’s responsible nature and exemplary commitment to his duties. The retiring Rajya Sabha members earlier participated in a group photo session at the Rashtrapati Bhavan at 10 am, followed by the farewell function at 6.30 pm at the chairman’s residence.

PM Modi paid tribute to Manmohan Singh, acknowledging his significant role in guiding both houses of Parliament and the nation. He expressed gratitude for Singh’s substantial contributions over the years. Modi recalled instances where Singh, despite facing health challenges, demonstrated his commitment by attending Rajya Sabha sessions, including voting on important matters while in a wheelchair.
