In a recent development, Eknath Shinde the ongoing rivalry for the Kalyan East Legislative Assembly seat between leaders of the BJP and the Shiv Sena, specifically the Eknath Shinde faction, escalated into a violent incident.

The Hill Line Police Station in Ulhasnagar, Maharashtra, became the scene of chaos as BJP MLA Ganpat Gaikwad was apprehended by the police on Saturday. He stands accused of allegedly firing shots at Shiv Sena leader Mahesh Gaikwad, resulting in injuries to Gaikwad and one of his supporters.

The confrontation unfolded during a discussion between BJP MLA Ganpat Gaikwad, Shiv Sena leader Mahesh Gaikwad, and senior inspector Anil Jagtap at the police station. Reports indicate that after an argument, both leaders had gone to the police station to file a complaint.

Statement by the opposition leader

However, tensions escalated, and Ganpat Gaikwad allegedly opened fire, causing injuries to Mahesh Gaikwad and a supporter. The injured Shiv Sena leader is currently undergoing medical treatment at Thane’s Jupiter Hospital.

DCP Sudhakar Pathare confirmed the incident and mentioned that three individuals, including BJP MLA Ganpat Gaikwad, were detained in connection with the firing. Eknath Shinde  The investigation is ongoing, with DCP Pathare revealing that six rounds of firing had taken place.

Reacting to the incident, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Ananad Dubey criticized the state government, expressing dismay that such an incident occurred within a police station.

He emphasized the severity of the situation, condemning the act of an MLA resorting to violence instead of working for the welfare of the people. Srinivas BV, the president of the Youth Congress, criticized the BJP-Sena coalition, drawing attention to the political affiliations of those involved.

The motive behind the attack is still under investigation by the police, who have also seized the firearm used by Ganpat Gaikwad. Both injured leaders are receiving medical attention at Jupiter Hospital. The tension in Ulhasnagar has risen, with Shiv Sena supporters gathering at the hospital.
