The BJP has not gained anything concrete by appointing Nitish Kumar!

Prashant Kishor, a political strategist, suggests that the BJP is cognizant of an anticipated decline in support in Bihar due to seat-sharing with the JD(U). However, Kishor argues that this move is strategic, aiming to lose a battle for the sake of winning the larger political war. According to him, the return of Nitish Kumar and JD(U) to the NDA might not significantly alter BJP’s seat count in Bihar, but it serves as a psychological blow to the opposition.

In a recent interview, Kishor expressed the view that bringing Nitish Kumar, a key architect of the India bloc, back into the NDA is akin to sacrificing a battle to secure a long-term advantage for the BJP.

A noteworthy shift occurred in the political landscape ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections when Nitish Kumar, who had led the opposition against the BJP, joined the NDA. Despite past conflicts, JD(U) and BJP appeared amicable, and the Congress downplayed the impact of Nitish Kumar’s departure on the opposition alliance. However, Kishor predicts a transformation in Bihar’s political scenario before the 2025 assembly elections, with JD(U) winning more than 20 seats regardless of its alliance partner.

Kishor emphasizes that while Nitish Kumar’s individual contribution to the opposition bloc was perceived as limited, his symbolic importance as a key member of the India formation was significant. Kishor suggests that the BJP is adopting a strategic approach, fully aware that sharing seats with JD(U) might lead to a reduction in their numbers, and they may face consequences in the upcoming assembly elections.

Regarding Rahul Gandhi’s actions, Kishor criticizes the timing of his Bharat Jodo Naya Yatra, stating that he should prioritize being at the headquarters instead of being on the ground. Kishor questions the effectiveness of Gandhi’s time management during this crucial period.

Addressing the challenges within the India bloc due to its late formation, Kishor wonders why the alliance did not solidify in 2022 or 2021 when everyone knew about the impending seat-sharing discussions leading up to the 2024 elections. Kishor, who gained prominence in 2019 for infusing Indian narratives with courage and conviction, is now being portrayed as the figure who introduced Ram to the nation in 2024.
