In anticipation of the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple on January 22, officials announced that 200 kg of laddus would be sent to Ayodhya as a ‘yagya’ offering by the Shri Krishna Janmasthan Seva Sansthan.

Kapil Sharma, the Secretary of the organization, disclosed that a week-long ‘yagya’ would take place in Ayodhya from January 16 to 22, with laddus being sent on Makar Sankranti. These laddus, made with “Misri,” saffron, dry fruits, and seasonal ingredients, will be transported to Ayodhya in a car adorned like a chariot.

Sharma further mentioned that six representatives of the Shri Krishna Janmasthan Trust have been invited to the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple. As part of the festivities, the twin idols of Shri Krishna and Radha Rani in Bhagwat Bhawan will be dressed as Lord Ram and Goddess Sita during the consecration ceremony—a departure from the tradition observed only on Ram Navami. Bhagwat Bhawan will be illuminated and transformed to resemble the Ram temple for the occasion.

Gopeshwar Chaturvedi, a member of Shri Krishna Janmasthan Seva Sansthan, shared that devotees in the Krishna Janamsthan temple will be served “kheer,” “puri,” and halwa starting at 9 am.

Concerning the Ram Lalla idol, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Construction Committee selected an idol depicting Lord Ram as a child, adorned with bows and arrows, weeks before the grand consecration on January 22. The final decision on the consecrated idol was made during a meeting presided over by Temple Trust Secretary Champat Rai. Although the formal announcement is expected in the first week of January, trustee Anil Mishra has expressed satisfaction with the chosen idol.

Addressing the regional aspect of devotion, the article notes the contribution of individuals from areas where Lord Krishna is traditionally revered, such as Tinsukia district in Assam. Harish Saikia, the RSS zila saha-karyavah (assistant general secretary) of Tinsukia district, shared his experience in 2021, highlighting that Lord Ram of Ayodhya is often mentioned alongside Krishna in Assamese prayers and Bihu songs. Saikia emphasized that this connection helped people in Assam understand the significance of contributing to the temple being built in Uttar Pradesh.
