"Major Srishti Khullar Leads Impressive All-Women Contingent In Republic Day Parade"

At this year’s Republic Day Parade, the armed forces of the nation will showcase significant strides towards gender equality, with a spotlight on a remarkable group of female officers set to make history. As the nation gears up to celebrate its 75th Republic Day, the dedication, skill, and commitment of these extraordinary women embody the qualities of greatness and service.

Leading the all-female marching unit from the Armed Forces Medical Services in the Republic Day parade is a notable figure. Reflecting on her transition from wielding a surgical knife to parading with a sword, she expresses excitement and acknowledges the demanding nature of her new role.

This groundbreaking contingent will unveil sophisticated equipment like Swathi, a weapon-finding radar, and the Pinaka rocket system, adding a touch of innovation to the parade. Last year, these officers were among the ten women appointed to the rank of officer in the Regiment of Artillery.

The all-female tri-service group, led by Capt Sandhya Mahla, Sub Lt Aashu Yadav, Flt Lt Shrishti Verma, and Capt Sharanya Rao, will be a highlight of the Republic Day parade. This diverse contingent, featuring female Agniveers from all three branches, will be at the forefront of the 144-member marching troop from the Indian Army.

Sukhoi-30 pilots Flight Lieutenant Ananya Sharma and Flying Officer Asma Shaikh, representing the Indian Air Force, will also participate in the Republic Day parade. Additionally, the Indian Navy’s tableau will be spearheaded by a female officer, emphasizing the theme of ‘Atmanirbharta’ as the centerpiece of the parade.

A tri-services contingent is headed by Captain Sharanya Rao.

Breaking another barrier, an all-female contingent from the Delhi Police, led by IPS officer Shweta K. Sugathan, is set to make history on the Kartavya Path during the Republic Day Parade. Comprising 194 female constables and head constables, this group, predominantly from Northeast India, is the first of its kind to participate in the parade.

In a historic moment for the tri-services contingent, Captain Sharanya Rao will lead the Army component down the Kartavya Path. This marks the first time that female officers from all three branches of the military will march together, highlighting the theme of ‘Nari Shakti’ for this year’s Republic Day Parade. Various women-led contingents, including the band, the tri-service, and the MNS contingent participating for the first time, contribute to the pride of the occasion.

Adding a unique touch to the parade, the couple of Captain Supreetha CT and Major Jerry Blaize will march down the Kartavya Path together, representing different regiments. This remarkable event, the first of its kind, showcases the evolving inclusivity and diversity within the armed forces, emphasizing unity and celebration on India’s 75th Republic Day.
