After the death of Karni Sena chief, the NIA arrested the main suspect.
2 min readAshok Kumar, the ninth suspect in an ongoing investigation, Karni Sena chief was apprehended by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) after weapons and ammunition were discovered on his property in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan.
The NIA conducted raids at 31 locations in Rajasthan and Haryana, including Hisar, Rewari, Mahendergarh, and other areas linked to criminal activities. The operation resulted in the detention of a major suspect connected to the assassination of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena Chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi in Jaipur last month.

On December 5, Gogamedi and another individual were shot and killed at his Shyam Nagar home in Jaipur, causing two injuries. One of the injured individuals later succumbed to the wounds. On December 11, the NIA took over the case, initially reported by the Rajasthan Police. Collaborating with the Haryana police, the NIA team focused on Dongra Ahir Hamlet in Mahendergarh, the hometown of the prime suspect Nitin Fauji in Gogamedi’s murder.
The investigation agency also probed the residences of two other criminals, Neeraj and Mahesh Saini, in Bandor village and Sati colony in Rewari, respectively. Raids were also conducted at the home of Ranveer Pilania in Surheti village, Mahendergarh. NIA officials stated that the raids commenced around 5 in the morning. Nitin Fauji, accused of multiple crimes including the murder of Sukhdev Singh, had joined the 17 Jat Battalion in Alwar, Rajasthan, after a two-day leave of absence on November 7. He visited Mahendergarh on November 9, and his family reported no contact since.

Nitin Fauji was arrested along with Rohit Rathore in Chandigarh last month by a joint operation involving the crime branch of Delhi Police and the Rajasthan Police’s special investigation team. Uddham Singh, an accomplice from Hisar, was also apprehended for aiding them. NIA raids extended to Satrod village in Hisar, where Udhham Singh resided, and family members were questioned by the NIA team.
