Since its early launch in 2023, Sons of the Forest has seen regular updates, with February 22, 2024, marking the culmination of all its development efforts.
IGN, the prominent American video game and entertainment website, has been closely involved in promoting the game, with particular focus on its captivating trailer. At the heart of this trailer lies an adorable scene featuring playful raccoons.
While much of the trailer may resemble content already present in the game, there are notable highlights. Notably, the updated version promises fresh adversaries to confront, novel landscapes to traverse, and intriguing new tools to fashion.

It took 12 months to overshoot its initial early access prediction by a bit; however, the game’s Steam page only says,
We are hoping to be in early access for around 6–8 months, but this could change. We will leave Early Access when we are certain this is the best version of the game possible.
