Vikas Bahl’s Hindi adaptation of the Gujarati film “Vash,” titled “Shaitaan,” made its debut in theaters this Friday, drawing varied responses from moviegoers. Directed by Bahl, the horror movie features Ajay Devgan, Jyotika, and R. Madhvan in lead roles, with Janki Bodiwala also part of the cast.

Movie enthusiasts shared their thoughts on social media, praising the performances while expressing mixed opinions on the impact of the film.

On platform X, a fan recommended “Shaitaan” to thriller and horror enthusiasts, describing it as a “highly engaging Seat Edge Thriller.” The viewer particularly applauded R. Madhvan’s wonderful performance and suggested watching the trailer before viewing the movie for a suspenseful experience.

One reviewer noted that the movie was never dull, calling it an “Outstanding Shaitaan” and a treat for horror film fans. They praised the engaging moments throughout the film and highlighted the incredible performances of Ajay Devgan and R. Madhvan.

However, not all viewers were completely satisfied. One person found the plot interesting but felt the conclusion was disappointing, describing the climax as following a template format. Despite this, they acknowledged the captivating screenplay, Madhvan’s fantastic performance as the villain, and overall praised it as a good suspense thriller.

Contrary to this, another fan disagreed, finding the climax compelling and praising Ajay Devgan as a “Superstar” who kept them on the edge of a “heart attack” but ultimately left them smiling.

A different perspective came from a moviegoer who believed “Shaitaan” had untapped potential. They expressed disappointment that the scary aspects were toned down, possibly to maintain a U/A rating, but commended Janki Bodiwala and Madhvan for their eerie performances. Despite the shortcomings, they appreciated the exploration of Black Magic and a family’s struggle to escape it, redeeming the film’s poor action in the climax. #ShaitaanReview
