On Thursday evening, Varanasi Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath warmly welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi. The Prime Minister embarked on a two-day visit to his parliamentary constituency, with a focus on initiating development projects totaling more than Rs 13,202 crore. During this visit, winners of the Kashi Sansad Sanskrit Pratiyogita, Kashi Sansad Photography Pratiyogita, and Kashi Sansad Gyan Pratiyogita will receive awards from the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Modi will lay the groundwork for 12 projects worth Rs 2,195 crore and inaugurate 24 projects worth Rs 11,972 crore. An event at BHU is also scheduled, where the PM will award prizes to the winners of the aforementioned competitions. Additionally, he will interact with participants through their photo entries on the theme of “Sanwarti Kashi” and provide various incentives, including books, uniform sets, music instruments, and merit scholarships to Sanskrit students in Varanasi.
During his visit, Prime Minister Modi will visit the Sant Ravidas Temple in Seergovardhan, where he will offer prayers and participate in a communal feast (Langar), receiving prasad. Dilip Patel, the BJP president for the Kashi region, mentioned that the PM will launch construction works within Sant Ravidas Janmashtami, amounting to about Rs 32 crore. This includes the unveiling of Sant Ravidas’s statue, laying the foundation stone of the museum’s contents, and enhancing the park, valued at about Rs 62 crore.
On Friday, the Prime Minister is scheduled to visit the Banas Dairy Plant in Karkhiyavan, launching and laying the foundation for several road projects to improve Varanasi’s connectivity. These projects involve the construction of a railway overbridge, six-laning of the Varanasi-Aurangabad section of NH-19, four-laning of Package-1 Varanasi-Haunumana section of NH-35, and the Ghargra-Bridge-Varanasi section of NH-233. The PM will also lay the foundation for Package 1 of the Varanasi-Ranchi-Kolkata Expressway.
Modi will open the Banas Kashi Sankul milk processor, the LPG bottling plant by HPCL, various infrastructure projects at UPSIDA AgroPark Karkhiyaon, and a common facility center for weavers promoting industrial development. Additionally, the PM will inaugurate urban development projects, including NTPC’s urban waste to charcoal plant in Ramana, upgrading the water supply network in the Sis-Varuna area, SCADA automation of STPs and sewerage pumping stations, and online effluent monitoring.

During the day, Prime Minister Modi will also launch tourism-related and spiritual tourism-related projects, including an electric catamaran vessel for Varanasi and Ayodhya, renovation of public spaces at Panchkoshi Parikarma Marg and Pawan Path, and construction of change rooms for floating jetties and community jetties.
