Actress Jacqueline Fernandez has urgently appealed to Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora to intervene in a letter expressing concern for her safety. In the letter titled “Systemic failure in prosecution witness protection,” she disclosed alleged intimidation and harassment by conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar during her time in incarceration. Jacqueline, described as a responsible citizen unintentionally involved in a case with significant legal implications, highlighted the threat to her safety.

She emphasized the terrifying psychological pressure and targeted intimidation campaigns she’s facing while being a prosecution witness in a case registered with the special cell. While in Mandoli Jail, she claimed that Sukesh, the accused, is using intimidating methods to threaten her in public settings.

Jacqueline asked for quick action.

Jacqueline urged the police commissioner for swift action, citing the danger to her safety and the potential impact on the fairness of the legal system. She specifically requested the filing of an FIR under relevant sections of the IPC against Sukesh to protect her as a prosecution witness under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA). She emphasized that such acts not only violate her personal rights but also undermine the foundation of the legal system.

Highlighting the erosion of the fundamental principle of witness protection, Jacqueline stressed the need to examine all communication avenues of the accused and implement strict controls to prevent future abuse. Jacqueline Fernandez She had previously approached a Delhi Court in December to restrain Sukesh from communicating with her through letters, messages, or statements. Jacqueline is a witness in a Rs 200 crore money laundering and extortion case involving Sukesh, investigated by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW).

In her court request last December, she sought prompt action against Sukesh for using her name in his communications, expressing fear that he might coerce her into withholding information from the court due to her role as a witness in the Delhi police FIR.
