On February 13, Farmers protest are set to march to Delhi under the banners of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, with support from over 200 farm unions. Their primary objective is to exert pressure on the Center to address their demands, which include the enactment of legislation guaranteeing a minimum support price (MSP) for crops.
The farmers, predominantly from Punjab and Haryana, are expected to depart for Delhi on Monday in preparation for the demonstration. In line with Section 144 of the CPC, the Haryana government has issued prohibitory orders, prohibiting gatherings of five or more people in the capital and along the borders.

Today, farmer leaders are scheduled to meet with three union ministers. Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher announced on Sunday that Piyush Goyal, Arjuna Munda, and Nityanand Rai would arrive in Chandigarh on February 12 for talks regarding the farmer’s “Chalo Delhi” march scheduled for February 13. Delhi Police issued a warning on Sunday about vehicle movement restrictions at three of the national capital’s borders.
According to the advisory, commercial vehicles will face traffic restrictions and diversions starting on Monday, while all other vehicles will be subjected to them starting on Tuesday. Farmers protest Interstate buses typically heading north on NH-44 to places like Sonipat, Panipat, and Karnal will be diverted via the KMP Expressway through Khekra, ISBT, Majnu Ka Tilla, Signature Bridge, Khajuri Chowk, and Loni Border. Heavy goods vehicles traveling via NH-44 to the same Northern cities are advised to take exit number 2 to reach the Auchandi Border, then continue via Saidpur Chowki to the KMP Expressway.
For those intending to travel to Bahadurgarh, Rohtak, and other locations, it is recommended to exit at exit number 2 of the DSIIDC, turn towards Bawara Road, proceed to Kanjhawala T-point, travel via Dr. Sahib Singh Verma Road, reach Kanjhawala Chowk, and take a right at the Nizampur Border via Sawda Village to reach Bahadurgarh Connection NH-9.
Sarvan Singh Pandher, the general secretary of the Punjab Farmers protest Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, emphasized that farmers’ demands have gone unmet for 75 years and urged the central government to take prompt action. He stressed that the farmers are not anti-national but rather citizens of the nation, and their peaceful demonstrations aim to highlight the importance of their demands to the government.
