Maharashtra Legislative Council’s member speaks on Poonam’s fake death 

Tambe, a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Council, asserted that Poonam Pandey should be held accountable for using such attention-grabbing tactics for career advancement. He stated that Pandey’s actions of “making or posting false or misleading information” warrant consequences and criticized the use of a fake death to raise awareness about cervical cancer.

“The news of an influencer/model’s death due to cervical cancer cannot be a means to spread awareness. The episode diminishes the seriousness of cervical cancer and shifts the focus entirely to the influencer,” Tambe emphasized.

In response to the allegations, Poonam Pandey refuted the claims of her death, asserting her vitality on social media. Meanwhile, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) condemned Pandey’s actions and filed an FIR against her.

The AICWA expressed disapproval of Pandey using the guise of cervical cancer for self-promotion, stating, “Such cheap publicity is not at all acceptable in our Indian Film Industry, which holds high emotional values for all.”
