On the occasion of the 75th Republic Day commemorating the adoption of the Constitution in 1950, New Delhi’s Kartavya Path is set to host the annual Republic Day parade with a special focus on women empowerment. The parade this year will highlight the themes of “Viksit Bharat” and “Bharat-Loktantra ki Matruka,” underscoring the pivotal role of women in the nation.
Motorbike Exhibition
A notable feature of the parade will be the unprecedented all-women tri-service contingent, comprising members from the CRPF, BSF, and SSB, as well as women troops from the Indian Army’s military police. This contingent will showcase daring stunts and formations during a motorcycle display, symbolizing the nation’s “Nari Shakti” or “women power.” Over 260 women will exhibit their bravery and determination through formations like Chandrayaan, Sarvatra Suraksha, Abhivadan, and Yog Se Siddhi.

The fly-past of the Indian Air Force
French President Emmanuel Macron will be the esteemed guest at the Republic Day procession in 2024. The event will feature a contingent of individuals of Indian and Nepali descent marching alongside French participants. Additionally, two French Rafale jets and a refueling aircraft will be part of the procession.
The fly-past by the Indian Air Force promises to be spectacular, with 46 aircraft participating, including 29 fighter jets, 7 transport aircraft, 8 helicopters, and 1 heritage aircraft. Notably, the indigenously built Tejas fighter jet will fly in a formation of four aircraft for the first time. Fifteen female pilots, including six from the fighter streams, will take the helm of various IAF platforms during the fly-past.
Musical performance by the band
A special musical performance titled “Avaahan” will feature over a hundred female musicians playing a variety of percussion instruments. The Republic Day Parade 2024 will also include 16 tableaux from states and Union territories, along with 9 from central ministries and departments.
Several states and Union territories will showcase their unique tableaux, such as Manipur featuring women riding boats and a replica of the historic all-women market, Ima Keithel. Chhattisgarh’s presentation will highlight the significant role of women in the tribal communities of Bastar, while the Odisha tableau will showcase women’s active involvement in the handcraft and handloom sectors.

The Republic Day parade is scheduled to commence at 10:30 a.m., with Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading the nation in laying a wreath at the National War Memorial, honoring the fallen heroes with heartfelt remembrance.
