Notably, some flowers are en route or have already arrived via dedicated aircraft for this occasion. Central to the rituals is the idol’s purification through a bath and the cleansing of the Garbh Grah (sanctum sanctorum) using treated water from various spiritual sites stored in 81 dedicated “Kalash” (urns).
The priests overseeing the ceremonies have outlined the intricate “Snapan” or purification procedure, a meticulous process utilizing the specially prepared medicated water from the 81 Kalash. This water, enriched with fruit extracts, Gau mutra, and other ingredients, will undergo a three-hour ritual. The water is sourced not only from rivers in India and Nepal but also from sacred cities, creating a symbolic connection to spiritual sites across the region.
In preparation for the grand event on January 22, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh visited Ayodhya on Friday to assess the final arrangements. Adityanath announced the establishment of a green corridor for devotees traveling from various cities and heightened security measures for the ceremony. The state government has ensured assistance for all devotees making their way to Ayodhya for the auspicious “darshan.”
Amidst the preparations, Anil Mishra, the Yajman of Shri Ram Temple, received thoughtful gifts from different parts of the country and beyond. Vishwa Hindu Parishad President Alok Kumar presented gifts from Kashmir, Tamil Nadu, and Afghanistan. Expressing joy over the Ram temple’s construction, Muslim brothers and sisters from Kashmir visited Mishra, emphasizing the shared ancestry despite religious differences. Noteworthy gifts included two kilograms of pure Kashmiri saffron and a silk bedsheet featuring an image of Shri Ram Temple.
