The head of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, have intensified political tensions. Following these meetings, Tejaswi Yadav, a prominent figure in the ruling coalition, accused the BJP of spreading misinformation and expressed confidence that the saffron party would be ousted from Bihar’s political landscape.

Amit Shah, a senior BJP leader, criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s recent Caste-Based Survey in the state, calling it an “eye-wash.” Shah alleged that the survey deliberately inflated the numbers for Yadav and Muslim populations, disadvantaging Extremely Backward Castes (EBCs) and other Backward Castes (OBCs). He claimed that the Congress-led government was engaging in discrimination through a strategy of appeasement towards political allies.

Speaking at a public meeting in Muzaffarpur, Shah accused the Grand Alliance of relying on casteism, dynastic politics, minority appeasement, and criminality as the foundation of their governance in Bihar.

Tejaswi Yadav emphasized the need for regular meetings within the opposition coalition to ensure the state’s development. He also inquired about the BJP’s plans for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, where Bihar holds 40 seats. According to the Deputy Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar is reportedly unhappy with the alliance, contrary to rumors suggesting otherwise. He reassured that everything is stable within the opposition’s India bloc.

The recently released data from the caste-based survey indicated that OBCs collectively constitute a significant 63% of Bihar’s population. The survey highlighted the prominence of the most backward classes within this social segment. The India alliance’s primary goal in opposing Prime Minister Modi is to address the concerns of the most backward classes.
