This extraordinary achievement not only shattered the previous record for the highest individual score in the event final but also drew parallels to the legendary Brian Lara.

Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, who held the record for the highest individual score in the final for 24 years, showered praise on Prakhar for his exceptional performance. Yuvraj expressed his delight on ‘X,’ applauding Prakhar’s leadership and asserting that Indian cricket is in excellent hands.

Prakhar’s stellar innings, comprising 46 fours and three sixes off 638 balls, showcased his outstanding talent and patience in red-ball cricket. His innings, reminiscent of Lara’s masterclass, surpassed Yuvraj’s record and left an enduring impact on the cricketing community.

Karnataka dominated the encounter, outclassing Mumbai by an innings with a staggering total of 890 for 8 after 223 overs. Samit Dravid, son of the legendary Rahul Dravid, played a pivotal role, contributing both with the bat and ball, taking two wickets and scoring 22 runs.

Despite missing out on the Indian U-19 Cricket World Cup squad, Prakhar’s exceptional performance has captured the attention of selectors.
