CIA Says 'Havana Syndrome' Not A Foreign Conspiracy: All You Need To Know

Havana Syndrome: The first case in Cuba in 2016, which involved nosebleed complaints, migraines and nausea after experiencing a piercing sound at night, triggered suspicion that Russia or other rivals conducted a campaign to hurt US officials.

After months of speculation and reports, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has concluded that US diplomats suffer from what has been nicknamed ‘Havana Syndrome’ is not targeted by foreign forces.

This looks at what the mystery is, and what the CIA concludes, according to the report.

What is ‘Havana Syndrome’?

The mysterious condition came to the public’s attention in 2016 after dozens of diplomats at the American Embassy in Havana, Cuba, began to complain of disease. Their symptoms include migraines, nausea, memory deviations and dizziness. Some people experience it left with symptoms for months. The latest cases include one person who must be evacuated from Switzerland to the US for care.

How many ‘cases’ are reported and investigated?

Over the past five years, thousands of cases of alleged mystery conditions have been reported by diplomats, Spies and US officials in various geography including in Vienna, Paris, Geneva, Beijing, and Havana, among others.

According to a report in the New York Times, 1,000 cases reviewed by US researchers can be explained. The CIA report concludes that these cases can be explained by the causes of the environment, medical conditions or stress that are not diagnosed, rather than action by foreign forces.

The next report said that two dozen cases were still not explained.

Cases are also reported in India?

In September 2021, a member of the Delegation delegation Delegation Bill Director CIA reported symptoms that were consistent with ‘Havana Syndrome’ and had to receive medical attention.

What was originally suspected?

US officials previously accused these cases could be caused by Russian microwave attacks, but scientists expressed doubts about the theory. Russia, China and the US itself are all said to have examined the microwave for military purposes but Moscow has refused allegations as “fantastic hypotheses”.

What is the report found?

According to the details of reports published by the New York Times, mysterious diseases cannot be caused by Russia or other foreign enemies. The report said the CIA did not rule out foreign involvement in cases that remained unexplained, which continued to be investigated.

“In hundreds of other cases of possible symptoms, the agency has found an alternative explanation that makes sense,” according to the NBC source.

But the Director of CIA Bill Burns said in a statement that the mission to investigate this incident will continue. “While we have achieved several significant findings, we are not completed … We will continue the mission to investigate this incident and provide access to world-class care for those who need it,” Burns said.

Controversy over the findings of the CIA

The temporary finding caused frustration from some of them who fell ill. This includes current officials and former who have struggled with chronic diseases for years without explanation. A group of people said the CIA assessment “could not and should not be the last word about this problem”, according to a statement quoted by the New York Times.
