Reflecting on her journey, Shivani shared, “I had started stitching out of boredom. Eventually, it helped me contribute to my family’s income. My elder brother supported me in my education, but now it is time when I need to make my decision on my responsibility. I enrolled for the 2-year diploma course in electrical engineering and completed it with the money I had saved,” as reported by The Times of India.

The turning point in Shivani’s life came when a government agency visited her college seeking candidates to operate trains on the RRTS between Delhi and Meerut. The RRTS corridor’s first section was inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi in 2023, with the full unveiling scheduled for 2025. Shivani seized the opportunity and embarked on a journey to become one of the pilots for the Namo Bharat trains, piloting the priority segment after months of rigorous training.
Recalling the memorable day of the RRTS corridor’s inauguration, Shivani shared, “We were wearing our uniforms – blue suits and a red cap – which made us feel like airline pilots. It still gives me goosebumps… The sight of the PM waving the flag and a crowd cheering.”
