Farmers Persist with Protest: 'Rail Roko' to Resume on March 10

On March 6, the “Delhi Chalo” march is set to resume, followed by a national “Rail Roko” on March 10, as announced by prominent farmers Sarwan Singh Pandher and Jagjit Singh Dallewal. The leaders stated that the protesting farmers, currently stationed at the Punjab-Haryana border, will embark on a “peaceful” march towards Delhi on March 6.

In Balloh village, Punjab, the hometown of a farmer who recently lost his life in clashes, Pandher and Dallewal emphasized that the farmers will intensify their protests at the current locations until the government meets their demands.

To facilitate participation from farmers in distant states who cannot travel on tractor trolleys, alternative transportation methods, such as trains, are encouraged. The leaders also highlighted the ongoing agitation at Shambhu and Khanauri, emphasizing that it will persist and escalate until their demands are addressed.

Pandher stressed the importance of garnering support for the farmers’ demands through resolutions passed by every panchayat in Punjab. Emphasizing the determination of the farmers, Pandher declared that they will continue fighting for their rights, regardless of the challenges they face.

Over 200 farmers’ unions, including the Samyukta Kisan Morcha and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, initiated the Delhi Chalo march on February 13, seeking to exert pressure on the government to address multiple demands.
