Earlier, Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, had declared TMC’s intention to vie for all 42 seats in Bengal, as well as some seats in Assam and the Meghalaya Tura Lok Sabha seat. Although TMC initially declared its solo run in the local elections scheduled for April-May, the Congress later indicated that seat-sharing negotiations with TMC were back on track.

In Uttar Pradesh, the Samajwadi Party and Congress solidified their alliance, with the former contesting 63 seats and the latter 17 out of the 80 Lok Sabha seats. The Congress has identified specific constituencies, including Raebareli, Amethi, Fatehpur Sikri, Saharanpur, Prayagraj, Maharajganj, Varanasi, Amroha, Jhansi, Bulandshahar, Ghaziabad, Mathura, Sitapur, Barabanki, Kanpur, Bansgaon, and Deoria. In Maharashtra, the Congress is in alliance with Sharad Pawar’s NCP and Uddhav Balasheb Thackrey’s Sena. Mamata Banerjee previously stated that the Congress rejected her offer, leading to the breakdown of negotiations.
