Himanta Biswa Sarma dogfight with Rahul Gandhi’s receives fresh material.

Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress party, and Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam, continue their longstanding rivalry, marked by recent events during Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Naya Yatra. The tension escalated when a video of Rahul Gandhi offering a biscuit to a man, rejected by his dog, went viral.

Himanta Biswa Sarma seized the opportunity to criticize Rahul Gandhi in the video, following what he perceived as personal attacks from Gandhi’s crude remarks. These exchanges occurred during the Naya Yatra in Assam, where Rahul Gandhi, known for his affection for dogs, was seen with his dog “Pidi” in an open SUV.

A new chapter in the years-long, tenacious conflict was introduced with a batch biscuit.

The incident involving a rejected biscuit turned into a symbol of sycophancy, as BJP leaders criticized Congress, emphasizing their commitment to self-respect. Shehzad Poonawalla, a BJP National Spokesperson, commented on the video, stating, “This is why no one with respect for oneself can remain in Congress.”

A Symbol of Sycophancy: Biscuit

Pallavi CT, a BJP co-convenor in Mumbai, shared the video, recalling a previous incident where Himanta Biswa Sarma was allegedly forced to eat biscuits from the same plate as Pidi during a meeting with Rahul Gandhi. The BJP leaders connected Rahul Gandhi’s actions to a larger issue within the Congress party, with Amit Malviya, the head of BJP’s IT cell, suggesting that such behavior towards party workers could lead to the party’s demise.

Pallavi CT and Shehzad Poonawalla drew a clear connection between Rahul Gandhi’s actions and Himanta Biswa Sarma’s claims of vindication by Gandhi and the Congress party. They referred to an incident in 2016 when Himanta Biswa Sarma visited Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi and discussed the incident involving Pidi, Gandhi’s pet dog.

Rahul Gandhi’s Pet Love

Despite the political tensions, Rahul Gandhi’s love for dogs, especially his pet Pidi, has been a consistent aspect of his public persona. The ongoing rivalry between him and Himanta Biswa Sarma takes on new dimensions with each chapter, with the latest involving a rejected biscuit becoming a symbol in the political narrative.
