Crackdown in Delhi: Police Seize BMW from Resident Hemant Soren

In the ongoing investigation against Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) took a significant step by seizing his expensive BMW from his residence in New Delhi. This move comes as Soren continues to avoid questioning in connection to a money laundering probe linked to a property fraud case.

Reports suggest that the seized BMW was allegedly acquired through “proceeds of crime,” adding a crucial twist to the investigation. The suspicion is that Soren used this vehicle frequently during his visits to the national capital, heightening the significance of the seizure.

Despite receiving seven summonses from the ED, Soren has consistently evaded inquiry, contemplating legal challenges against them. In response to the summonses, Soren, who is also preparing for the upcoming Legislative Assembly Budget Session from February 2nd to 29th, 2024, sent a detailed reply to the federal agency. He accuses the ED of hindering the state government’s activities and attempting to impede an elected official from fulfilling duties.

Confidential BJP Meeting: Soren

The ED, in its pursuit, has investigated Jharkhand Bhawan and Soren’s father’s residence but found no evidence. Soren’s hired plane getting stuck at Delhi Airport adds further complexity to the situation. Soren is ready to face the summons in the Supreme Court, intensifying the legal battle.

The Rs 600 crore money laundering case involves a massive conspiracy related to the unlawful transfer and sale of government property to developers. Notable individuals, including IAS official Chhavi Ranjan, have been apprehended. Soren vehemently denies the allegations, considering them an attempt to discredit him, with his supporters rallying behind him.

The governor’s call for action and new information about Soren’s alleged escape from his Delhi residence further raises suspicions.
