Thursday marked the commencement of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Modi campaign for the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections. In a two-minute and ten-second video, the saffron party unveiled a campaign song titled “That’s why people chose Modi,” lavishly praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The election anthem extolled several government initiatives led by Prime Minister Modi, including the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the Har Ghar Nal Scheme, the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), and the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.

Simultaneously, Prime Minister Modi utilized technological platforms on Thursday to connect with India’s youth, emphasizing the pivotal role their votes would play in shaping the country’s destiny. Addressing young voters in a virtual session hosted by the BJP’s youth wing, he drew parallels between their responsibility for guiding India’s development in the next 25 years and the youth who fought for independence against Britain during a similar timeframe.
Scheduled to inaugurate development projects worth ₹19,100 crore in Bulandshahr, Prime Minister Modi expressed optimism about recent positive developments. He highlighted the shift in the nation’s outlook, noting that a decade ago, the youth had a more pessimistic view of the future. His discourse encapsulated the prevailing national sentiment, with people now discussing possibilities that seemed relinquished by their parents’ generation in 2014, the year the BJP assumed federal government.
Prime Minister Modi’s address emphasized digital India, the promotion of start-ups, infrastructure improvement, and the assurance that opportunities for the youth were boundless. While attributing several long-standing reforms to his government, such as the abolition of instant triple talaq, GST implementation, Article 370 repeal, and reservation of seats for women in the Lok Sabha and assemblies, he also criticized the opposition alliance.
Recent events, including the Ram Temple dedication ceremony, the BJP’s victories in three assembly elections in 2023, and the resurgence of the Indian stock market, have positioned political experts to speculate on Modi’s strong chance of securing a third consecutive five-year term as president. His standing has further solidified due to divisions within the INDIA bloc alliance, with Chief Ministers Mamata Banerjee of West Bengal and Bhagwant Mann of Punjab opting to go solo.
