In a bid to maintain communal harmony, authorities in Mumbai’s Mira Road have issued a directive to social media group administrators, urging them to ensure that no content related to recent conflicts is circulated.
The Mira Bhayandar Vasai Vihar Police has requested administrators to refrain from forwarding jokes or videos related to the altercation that occurred on the eve of the Ram Temple Pran-Pratishtha on January 22, following the bulldozer action on Mira Road.

If these guidelines are violated, the police warn of taking action against the group administrators. The directive comes in the aftermath of a brawl in the area, with videos of the incident going viral. The videos depicted members of the Muslim community attacking cars displaying Lord Ram’s flags, prompting the deployment of riot police ahead of the Ram Temple dedication.
The consequences for group administrators breaking the directives could be severe, as per the order issued by the Mira Bhayandar Vasai Virar (MBVV) Police. This move follows a violent turn of events during a car rally in Naya Nagar, resulting in the arrest of 13 individuals in a communal clash on Mira Road.
The attackers now face charges under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code, dealing with attempted murder. The incident unfolded when a group rallied on the night of January 21, chanting pro-Lord Ram slogans in anticipation of the Ram Mandir inauguration. Reports of firecrackers during the demonstration led to a confrontation between two groups, resulting in physical altercations and attacks on vehicles.

To prevent a further deterioration of law and order, a significant number of police officers were deployed promptly. Simultaneously, in Thane district’s Naya Nagar neighborhood, the Mira Bhaindar Municipal Corporation took action to demolish illegal roadside stalls on January 23.
This move, however, affected legitimate vendors, including a handicapped man selling kebab pao, who claimed to have received inadequate notification about the booth’s removal, stating that he had renewed his license.
