The ensemble cast film featuring Dhanush, Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandana, and Sekhar Kammula was officially launched in Hyderabad with a traditional puja ceremony. Sekhar Kammula, the acclaimed National Award-winning director, marked the commencement of his upcoming project, which remains untitled, despite being colloquially referred to as #DNS, denoting the initials of the director and male leads.

Despite the producer’s reticence, the filming for the project continued on Wednesday, with Dhanush shooting key scenes on his first day. The film, presented by Sonali Narang and directed by Suniel Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao under Sree Venkateshwara Cinema, has Niketh Bommi on board as the cinematographer. However, the complete list of actors and crew members has yet to be disclosed by the producers.

The movie is anticipated to have releases in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. Expectations are high, given Sekhar Kammula’s previous successes with films like Fidaa and Love Story. Dhanush, who recently released his film Captain Miller in Tamil on January 12, with a Telugu debut scheduled for January 25, is not only acting but also returning to writing and directing with his 50th project, #D50. The film features Nithya Menen, SJ Suryah, Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayram, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and others in significant roles.

Meanwhile, Nagarjuna, whose recent release Naa Saami Ranga on January 14 received acclaim, has not revealed his future projects but is reportedly considering scripts. Rashmika Mandanna, fresh off her role in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, is set to appear in Rainbow, The Girlfriend in Telugu, and Chaava in Hindi. She is also reprising her role as Srivalli in Sukumar’s Pushpa the Rule.

Dhanush’s versatility continues to captivate audiences, not just through his acting but also with his choice of narratives. In his latest venture, Captain Miller, the actor collaborates with director Arun Maheswaran. The film unfolds in British-ruled pre-independence India, exploring the history of a 600-year-old local Shiva temple, where Ayyar Koranar’s statue was concealed due to social prejudices and caste discrimination, preventing local tribes from entering.
