A New Approach to Taxation Inspired by Lord Ram

Taking cues from the ideals of Ram Rajya, Prime Minister Modi highlighted a novel approach to taxation. Drawing parallels with natural processes like precipitation replenishing soil, he stressed the need for tax systems that mimic such organic mechanisms. Reflecting on the reforms made a decade ago, he noted the user-friendly and advantageous nature of the current Indian tax system. The introduction of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and simplification of the income tax system were emphasized as pivotal steps.

Proper Record-Keeping for Tax Payments

Prime Minister Modi credited these tax reforms for the nation’s record-breaking tax collections. The increase in the income tax exemption limit from 2 lakhs to 7 lakhs was cited as a measure benefiting taxpayers, enabling savings of around 2.5 lakh crore. Expressing gratitude to diligent taxpayers, he underscored the utilization of funds for national development, aligning with the principles of Ram Rajya.

Elimination of corruption and bringing corrupt officials to justice were highlighted as key government objectives. The Prime Minister asserted that nearly 25 crore individuals had escaped poverty during the nine years in office, according to Niti Aayog, a historic achievement.

In the context of Ayodhya’s auspicious era, Prime Minister Modi expressed thanks for the opportunity to attend the temple ceremony and participate in an 11-day special ritual before the Pran Pratishtha ceremony for Ramlala on January 22.

Turning attention to NACIN, the Prime Minister emphasized the critical need to modernize India’s trade and commerce climate. He advocated for making the country more business-friendly by simplifying customs, taxes, and drug processes, aiming to position India as a major player in global trade.
