The inauguration ceremony of Ram Temple begins today.

The consecration ceremony of the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya, known as Pran Pratishtha, is scheduled to occur on January 22.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to attend this significant event that marks the opening of the Ram temple. Over 7,000 attendees, including celebrities, business tycoons, religious leaders, and dignitaries from over 100 countries, are anticipated, as per the temple trust.

The acclaimed artist Arun Yogiraj from Karnataka has sculpted the figure of Ram Lalla, which will be installed in the new temple during the consecration. Additionally, the existing idol of Lord Ram, revered for the past seventy years, will find its place in the sanctum sanctorum of the new temple.

In the Vikram Samvat 2080 calendar, the auspicious Pran Pratishtha of Lord Ram is scheduled for January 22, coinciding with the next Pash Shukla Kurma Dwadashi. The Pratistha program is expected to take place in the afternoons, following the ‘Abhijeet Muhurta’ schedule. Preceding the Pran Pratistha, the sacrament rituals are set to commence on January 16 and conclude on January 21.

PRE RITUALS 

  • Prayaschita and Karmakuti will be doing a Poojan on January 16th.
  • The Murti Parisar Pravesh will be on January 17th.
  • On the evening of January 18th, there will be Jal Yatra, Gandhadhivas, and Teerth Poojan.
  • Ghritadhivas, Aushadhadhivas, and Kesaradhivas on the morning of January 18th
  • Dhanyadhivas on the evening of January 19th
  • Sharkaradhivas and Phaladhivas (first thing on January 20)
  • Pushpadhivas will be on January 20th, in the evening 
  • Madhyadhivas on January 21st sunrise
  • Shaiyadhivas on December 22nd

The Pratistha rite for the dedication ceremonies of the Ram Mandir will involve a minimum of three Adhivasas, although the traditional requirement is seven. Overseeing the Anushthan will be Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid, who will coordinate, anchor, and lead all events, with Kashi’s Lakshmi Kant Dixit serving as the principal Acharya. A total of 121 Acharyas will participate in the dedication ceremonies.

The Pratistha ceremony will be a gathering of distinguished members from more than fifty tribal traditions, including Adivasi, Girivasi, Tatavasi, and Dwipavasi, as well as Acharyas representing various schools of Bharatiya spiritualism, religions, sects, worship systems, and traditions.

Notable figures such as Governor Anandiben Patel of Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh, Pujaniya Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat of the RSS, and Prime Minister Modi are expected to attend. Renowned Indian cricketers Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, and Sachin Tendulkar will also be present.

Bollywood celebrities, including Prabhas, Alia Bhatt, Rajinikanth, Madhuri Dixit, Anupam Kher, Akshay Kumar, Ranbir Kapoor, and Ajay Devgn, are anticipated at the event. However, invitations have not yet been extended to Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, and Shah Rukh Khan.

The consecration ceremony will be graced by the presence of seasoned actor Arun Govil, known for his portrayal of Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan. Guests from various states are bringing symbolic offerings such as soil, water, cash, stones, clothing, jewelry, large bells, drums, and aromatic items.
