Giriraj Singh criticized Kong for declining an invitation to an event at the Ram temple.

The Lok Sabha floor leaders, Giriraj Singh namely Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary, Sonia Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge, have collectively announced their decision not to attend the “Pran Pratishtha” ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh criticized the Congress for declining the invitation, accusing its leaders of adopting a more moderate stance on Hinduism when politically expedient. Singh argued that the Congress lacked the moral standing to visit Ayodhya, given its historical role in the legal proceedings related to the temple.

Singh emphasized that the Congress had handled the Ayodhya case in court and, therefore, had no moral authority to decline the invitation. The Congress, in response, labeled the ceremony as an RSS/BJP event and stated that its leaders would not be attending. The party accused the BJP and RSS of advancing the inauguration of the incomplete temple for electoral gains, drawing sharp criticism from the ruling party.

Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Chauhan commented on the Congress’s diminishing influence, attributing it to the party’s current position. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to attend the inauguration of the Ram Lalla idol on January 22. The temple representatives mentioned that the ceremony would span seven days, starting from January 16, with the principal consecration ceremonies conducted by priest Lakshmi Dixit on January 22.

The Congress’s stance has sparked controversy, with accusations that the party has consistently opposed Hindu sentiments and beliefs. Union Minister Anurag Thakur highlighted the Congress’s past positions on Shri Ram, including disputing his existence, pledging to rebuild the Babri Mosque, and obstructing the construction of the Ram Lalla temple. Thakur suggested that the Congress’s opposition to symbols like Ram Setu and Shri Ram itself, along with the alleged propagation of the myth of Hindu terrorism, could lead to public backlash.

Thakur warned that if the people reject the revered figure of Ram Lalla today, they may face consequences in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024. Dissent within the party was also rumored, with concerns raised about the potential impact on the faith and beliefs of the countrymen. The article underscores the deep-rooted political and religious implications surrounding the Congress’s decision and its potential ramifications in the upcoming elections.
