In Gandhinagar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 10th Gujarat Global Summit, with the theme “Gateway to the Future.” The summit, a brainchild of Modi during his tenure as the state’s chief minister, drew the participation of prominent world leaders, including Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan from the United Arab Emirates.

Prime Minister Modi commenced his two-day visit to Gujarat in Ahmedabad on January 9, engaging with global leaders and CEOs to discuss developmental projects for the state. Apart from the Gujarat Global Summit, Modi is set to unveil the Vibrant Gujarat Trade Show on January 10 in the evening.

The 2021 edition of the summit was canceled due to Covid-19 restrictions, but the 2024 edition witnessed the presence of numerous international corporations and partner nations. The Vibrant Gujarat Summit, taking place from January 10 to 12, features a massive exhibition, the Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade Show 2024, spanning 2 lakh square meters across several halls.

The exhibition showcased contributions from twenty different nations, covering significant topics such as Industry 4.0, Technology and Innovation, Sustainable Manufacturing, Green Hydrogen, Electric Mobility, Renewable Energy, and the Transition towards Sustainability. Seminars and conferences will delve into these subjects, with thirteen partner organizations and thirty-four partner countries participating in the summit.

Distinguished dignitaries attending the event include President Dr. Jose Ramos-Horta of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, President Mr. Filipe Jacinto Nyusi of Mozambique, and Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel. The Prime Minister toured pavilions like the Innovation Decade, Atmanirbhar Gujarat, E-Mobility, International Pavilion, and Smart Infrastructure.

Commemorative coins, postal stamps, and an electronic coffee table book were presented by the Prime Minister. The Global Trade Show is open to business visitors from January 10–11 and to the public from January 12–13.

Scheduled for January 11 and 12, 2024, the summit will attract international buyers from over 10 countries seeking suppliers in various categories, including food processing, chemical, pharmaceutical, ceramics and tiles, clothing and textiles, automotive manufacturing, and engineering.

Twenty countries, such as Tanzania, Australia, Mozambique, Morocco, and others, are participating in the international trade show, showcasing details about their industries. Over a thousand research industry exhibitors are expected to participate, presenting current projects and breakthroughs across various disciplines.
