On Friday, a significant development is set to unfold as four Dawood Ibrahim’homes in Maharashtra linked to the notorious mafia boss Dawood Ibrahim will be auctioned. These properties, owned by Dawood’s family, come with a reserve price of Rs 19 lakh. The agricultural land parcels are located in the Ratnagiri district’s Mumbake village, adding historical significance to the auction as one of the properties is the childhood home of Dawood Ibrahim.

Interestingly, there is a bidder, Srivastava, who has previously attempted to acquire three residences associated with the infamous terrorist, including the childhood house in Mumbake. Srivastava, a member of the Shiv Sena, aims to convert one of the properties into a Sanatan Pathshala. The government, under the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators Act of 1976, had seized these properties.
This isn’t the first time Dawood Ibrahim’s properties have gone under the hammer. In 2000, one of his seized properties was auctioned, but no buyers showed up, possibly due to concerns about the association with terrorism. In 2020, six properties in Mumbake, including his childhood home, were put up for auction. Earlier in 2017, the government auctioned three opulent properties in South Delhi, including a hotel, linked to Ibrahim.
Adding a layer of intrigue, recent rumors circulated about Dawood Ibrahim’s health, with claims suggesting he was fighting for his life in a Karachi hospital. However, Pakistani authorities refused to confirm these reports. Speculations included tight security and the use of a ventilator due to deteriorating health, but a close aide denied these rumors.

The upcoming auction will feature four properties in Khed Taluka, Ratnagiri district, owned by Amina Bi, Dawood Ibrahim’s mother, who is currently evading authorities. These agricultural properties in Mumbake village, significant in the history of Dawood and his siblings, will be auctioned under the administration of Safema, the competent authority and administrator appointed by the Union Ministry of Finance. The auction, scheduled in Mumbai, will be closely watched as it unfolds on Friday.
