In a recent announcement from the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, it was revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has graciously accepted an invitation to attend the opening ceremony of the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi on February 14th of the upcoming year.

The invitation was extended by Swami Ishwarcharandas, Swami Brahmavihaidas, and the board of directors. A meeting between PM Modi and BAPS Swami Ishwarchrandas took place at the Prime Minister’s residence, where Modi expressed his steadfast support for the historic temple.

In recognition of the Prime Minister’s significant contributions to India and the world, Swami Ishwarcharandas honored him by draping a saffron shawl over his shoulders and adorning him with a garland. The press release highlighted PM Modi’s commendable efforts in the construction and renovation of pilgrimage sites across India, a feat unparalleled in previous decades. The meeting focused on the global importance of the Abu Dhabi temple for world peace, as well as Modi’s vision for India’s spiritual leadership on the international stage.

The BAPS delegation conveyed their well-wishes for the Prime Minister’s health and acknowledged his remarkable achievements on the global stage, particularly in strengthening ties with the United Arab Emirates and other Middle Eastern nations. They also discussed the motivation and sense of pride instilled by Modi’s leadership among Indians worldwide. PM Modi reciprocated by sending prayers for the well-being of Mahant Swami Maharaj and recalling cherished memories of Pramukh Swami Maharaj and his centennial celebrations.

Recognizing the crucial role played by volunteers and supporters of the BAPS Hindu Mandir project in Abu Dhabi, the Prime Minister specifically acknowledged individuals such as Director Chirag Patel, Vice Chairman Yogesh Mehta, and Chairman Ashok Kotecha. In a lighter exchange, PM Modi engaged in conversation with Chirag Patel about his passion for tennis, inquiring about his father Rohitbhai Patel and grandfather P. D. Patel. He encouraged Patel’s children to persevere and excel in the sport.

Swami Brahmaviharidas provided an overview of the latest renovations to the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi, emphasizing its intricate carvings and inclusive grandeur.
