Musk had fired these top executives after accusing them of misleading him, and investors in Twitter over the number fake accounts they created on the social media platform.
Parag, CEO, had gone to court to force Elon Musk to comply with terms of a takeover agreement he tried to escape. These reports were made just hours before Musk was given a deadline by the court to close the deal to buy Twitter.
According to Reuters news agency, CEO Parag Agrawal was with Twitter at the time of their firing. Both executives were apparently escorted by security. Both top executives were paid hefty sums. Insider reports that Agrawal was paid $38.7million, Segal received $25.4 million and Gadde $12.5 million. Personette was paid $11.2 million.
On Thursday, Tesla CEO Stephen Tesla tweeted that he was buying Twitter. Musk stated that Twitter cannot be a “free-for-all hellscape” where anyone can say anything without consequences. Musk shared his thoughts with more than 110 million of his followers, “We must adhere to the laws of this land. Our platform must be warm, welcoming, and you can choose the experience that suits you best.
