The United States announced Monday’s financial sanctions against the rebel territory in East Ukraine which was recently recognized by Russia and warned that it was necessary if necessary.
President Joe Biden will issue executive orders to “prohibit new investments, trade, and financing by US people for, from, or in the DNR and LNR regions of Ukraine,” said Press Secretary White Jen PSAKI, referred to the Breakaway area of Donetsk and Lugansk.
Orders will “authorize to impose sanctions on everyone who is determined to operate in the Ukrainian region,” said PSAKI, adding that the steps apart from wider western sanctions ready to go “should Russia invade Ukraine.”

US Secretary Antony Blinken slams Russia’s recognition of separatist areas as a sign of President Vladimir Putin is not interested in diplomacy.
Blinken said in a statement that recognized the independence area “directly contrary to the commitment claimed by Russia to diplomacy, and is a clear attack on the sovereignty of Ukraine.”
“Russian decisions are another example of the alignment of President Putin who is striking for international law and norms,” he said, adding a separate tweet that the United States “will take the right steps in coordination with partners.”
Biden has led the European coalition and other US allies to make the package of what they say will paralyze economic sanctions against Russia must be a mass of troops on the Ukrainian border starting attacks.

Biden then spoke for half an hour with two main European allies – French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, said an official. The three leaders “strongly condemned” Putin’s decision and discussed how to coordinate their response.
The White House did not immediately respond to the question of whether there was still consideration given to the summit suggested between Biden and Putin.
