‘The Pale Blue Eye’ Christian Bale Netflix Movie: Filming Begins & What We Know So Far

Thus we have pale blue eyes, a Gothic horror thriller starring Oscar Winner Christian Bale and acquired by Netflix for $ 55 million, beating many other competitors who tried to buy movies in the European film market.

Netflix is a pale blue eye will be written and directed by Scott Cooper known as films such as crazy heart, black mass, not hostile and out of the furnace. Cooper and Bale had previously worked together on the last two films made their pale blue eyes of the third collaboration. Cooper has tried to enter this film into development for more than a decade, according to the deadline.
Bale will produce a film with Birdman’s John Lesher and Tyler Thompson from Cross Creek images, who come from the Golden Globe – win the Chicago 7 trial.
What is the plot of The Pale Blue Eye?
Netflix’s The Pale Blue Eye is an adaptation of Louis Bayard’s 2006 novel of the same name. Fun fact: the novel, which features a young Edgar Allan Poe, was nominated for an Edgar Award in the category Best Novel in 2007. The Edgar Award is of course named after Edgar Allan Poe.
The quick premise of Netflix’s The Pale Blue Eye is the following:
At West Point Academy in 1830, the calm of an October evening is shattered by the discovery of a young cadet’s body swinging from a rope just off the parade grounds. An apparent suicide is not unheard of in a harsh regimen like West Point’s, but the next morning, an even greater horror comes to light. Someone has stolen into the room where the body lay and removed the heart.
At a loss for answers and desperate to avoid any negative publicity, the Academy calls on the services of a local civilian, Augustus Landor, a former police detective who acquired some renown during his years in New York City before retiring to the Hudson Highlands for his health. Now a widower, and restless in his seclusion, Landor agrees to take on the case. As he questions the dead man’s acquaintances, he finds an eager assistant in a moody, intriguing young cadet with a penchant for drink, two volumes of poetry to his name, and a murky past that changes from telling to telling. The cadet’s name? Edgar Allan Poe.
Who is cast in The Pale Blue Eye?
Oscar Winner Christian Bale, which is known for the many roles of iconic and award-winning, will sue Netflix is a pale blue eye. Bale will play Augustus Landor, a vetek detective who investigates the murder that occurs in the film. As mentioned above, this film will also display young cadets that help Bale’s character and which will eventually become a world-famous writer, Edgar Allan Poe. That role has not been filled.
During the summer of 2021, Harry Melling might be most famous in recent years for appearance in many of Netflix such as Gambit Queen, Devil all the time, old guards, and ballads Buster Scruggs. Melling will play the role of Edgar Allan Poe.
Too late on December 1, 2021 was confirmed by Hollywood reporter, that seventeen the next actor was attached to the project. Gillian Anderson’s sex education star has been thrown in an unnamed role, along with Lucy Boynton who previously starred in the apostle Horror Netflix. Anglo-French actress Charlotte Gainsbourg will make Netflix’s debut in pale blue eyes.
Veteran actors Robert Duvall, Toby Jones, and Timothy Spall have also been confirmed. Ozark actor Charlie Tahan has also been cast in an unnamed role.

What is the production status on The Pale Blue Eye?
Current production status: Filming – Filming began on November 29th, 2021
As of March 2021, the script for The Pale Blue Eye is being written and the movie is planned to enter production in Fall 2021 after Christian Bale is finished filming Thor: Love and Thunder and the yet-untitled David O’Russell movie.
Filming is currently ongoing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and New York. Filming on the thriller we’re told is started on November 29th and is scheduled to run through to February 25th, 2022.
On October 11th, CBS Pittsburgh reported that Netflix is currently in the process of hiring paid extras. According to the report:
“Extras will be expected to let their hair and sideburns grow, be able to work 12 hour days, and take part in a mandatory boot camp next month.”
When will The Pale Blue Eye be released on Netflix?
Considering a late 2021 production start and the big-budget and scope Netflix’s The Pale Blue Eye will have, it is likely we may not see the movie to be released until late 2022.
