Saudi Arabia confirms first case of Omicron in Gulf
1 min readSaudi Arabia has recorded a confirmed Gulf case from the Omicron variant of Coronavirus in a citizen who returned from North Africa, said the Ministry of Health officials Wednesday.
Tensions, who were first announced by South Africa but have never been found earlier in Europe, have encouraged the government throughout the world to restore travel restrictions, although the warning of this world health organization could be more dangerous than goodness.
“One Omicron variant case has been detected in the kingdom – it is a citizen who comes from the North African country,” said Ministry officials to the state spa news agency.
“He has been included in isolation, such as contact, and the necessary health steps have been taken.”
Saudi Arabia last week stopped flights from seven South African countries, reflecting similar movements by other governments, but the travel route with North Africa remained unaffected.
The kingdom has raised some remaining restrictions imposed at the beginning of the pandemic, allowing worshipers in Muslim holy places to continue Shoulder Shoulder from October.
Since the pandemic began, Saudi Arabia has recorded 549,000 cases of Covid-19, 8,836 of them fatal.
More than 47 million covid vaccine doses have been given in the kingdom, which has a population of almost 35 million.
